Using the Action Learning Cycle
I took a job in a call center to earn some money so that I could do things. I didn't enjoy working in the call center, it wore me out, and I didn't have time or energy to do things like my diploma. I waited until I had a bit of money saved up to tide me through about 2 incomeless months before I left. I found it reassuring that I managed to feel materially comfortable whilst spending very little money. I can now focus on my diploma and website and skill building - and also apply for more fulfilling work. I think I need to look for a part time job that I will find intrinsically motivating and rewarding. I feel a sense of optimism about the future and the work that I am going to do. I also feel that I learnt a valuable lesson, to work very hard in achieving my goals and making the most of my potential or else I might work unfulfilling, soul destroying jobs for the rest of my life!
I shall do research into part time jobs in my field of interest and apply. I will also write articles for the PRI who will pay for my work. I am going to develop my own website which will develop my brand, act as a vehicle for my own learning, and hopefully make me some income. I need to focus on striking a good work-life balance as a lot of my "work" is done outside of my "job". I look forward to experimenting and finding the right balance between these different areas. With the right design, I hope to skew things so that most of my "work" feels more like "life" as it is doing what I love.
